The Desert Eagle is normally chambered in .50 caliber, not .44; that's why it's such an unusual firearm. (We often joke that people who feel they need a Desert Eagle are compensating for feelings of smallness elsewhere.)

As far as I'm aware, the Desert Eagle is not a standard-issue gun used by the Israel Defense Forces.
